The Suzuki Jimny, the tiny off-roader that could, is slowly fading from Europe’s roads, succumbing to the pressures of strict emission regulations and the lack of electrification. For most of its life on the continent, it’s been relegated to a two-seater LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) in an attempt to sidestep these ever-tightening rules.

But before this plucky little 4×4 bows out, Suzuki has unveiled a special edition in France, marking the 55th anniversary of the original Jimny’s debut.

More: This 6×4 Suzuki Jimny Is The Ultimate Off-Road Toy And It’s For Sale

The Jimny 55th Anniversary is designed for collectors and will only be available in just 55 units. Visually, it is distinguished by a custom grille with Suzuki lettering, retro side decals, red mud flaps, and a soft spare wheel cover with the Rhino emblem. The off-roader rides on black steelies and is available in four exterior shades – White, Jungle Green, Bluish Black, and Medium Gray.

The interior has rubber floor mats on the passenger compartment and the trunk, alongside a commemorative plaque on the center console. Furthermore, Suzuki France threw in a special key ring and a travel journal with an embossed leather cover where owners can record their best memories with the vehicle.

This limited-run edition is based on the Privilège trim, which comes with all the creature comforts you’d expect, like A/C, heated seats, Bluetooth connectivity, lane departure warning, auto high beams, and traffic sign recognition. It doesn’t, however, get the 9-inch infotainment screen and LED lighting found in higher-end models. But, hey, maybe that’s a blessing for those who’d rather be navigating actual trails than fiddling with tech.
